Edward.

I was thinking about the idea that language speaks us last night and I was reminded of the following cartoon. Be aware, it contains some language.

Nice. In fact, if somebody were to graffiti some word in perfect print on it may get more attention than normal graffiti because it would be out of the norm.

A beautiful evocation of connections between language and identity.

While riding Trax this summer for an internship I had in Salt Lake, I would pass by some beautiful graffiti on the concrete walls in the industrial sites of Salt Lake. One of the murals is of the statue of liberty with the American flag in the background, surrounded by many 'classicly' configured graffiti words. But those would always pale in comparison to the big (offensive word coming) "Fuck America" written atop the Statue of Liberty's crown, perfectly written in traditional type. I think that is why it seemed to stand out on the mural as the focal point, because it was different.
